I don't know if you feel this way, but reading these quotes that are already thanking me for serving God's children just make me more inclined to service. I know I don't do as much as I could with service, but I want to eventually be able to read these quotes and feel as though they are speaking directly to me and saying, "Brooke, thank you for all the love and service you give to your brothers and sisters." This is how I want God to see me.
"For the Master I extend thanks for your work to serve the children of our Heavenly Father. He knows you, and He sees your effort, diligence, and sacrifice. I pray that He will grant you the blessing of seeing the fruit of your labors in the happiness of those you have helped and with whom you have helped for the Lord."
—Henry B. Eyring, "Opportunities to Do Good",
"I am trying to be voice for the very angels of heaven in thanking you for every good thing you have ever done, for every kind word you have ever said, for every sacrifice you have ever made in extending to someone—to anyone—the beauty and blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ."
—Jeffrey R. Holland, "
Because of Your Faith"
"To the duty designated by His Father, [the Savior] turned His face, pledged His heart, and gave His life. And what a sinless, selfless, noble, and divine life it was. Jesus labored. Jesus loved. Jesus served. Jesus testified. What finer example could we strive to emulate? Let us begin now, this very night, to do so. Cast off forever will be the old self and with it defeat, despair, doubt, and disbelief. To a newness of life we come—a life of faith, hope, courage, and joy. No task looms too large; no responsibility weighs too heavily; no duty is a burden. All things become possible."
—Thomas S. Monson, "
Examples of Righteousness",
"We each have a covenant responsibility to be sensitive to the needs of others and serve as the Savior did—to reach out, bless, and uplift those around us. Often, the answer to our prayer does not come while we’re on our knees but while we’re on our feet serving the Lord and serving those around us. Selfless acts of service and consecration refine our spirits, remove the scales from our spiritual eyes, and open the windows of heaven. By becoming the answer to someone’s prayer, we often find the answer to our own."
—Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "
Waiting on the Road to Damascus",
"We bless others as we serve in the shadow of 'Jesus of Nazareth … who went about doing good.' God bless us to find joy in serving our Father in Heaven as we serve His children on earth."
—Thomas S. Monson, "
The Savior's Call to Serve",
"You may sometimes be tempted to say, ‘Will my influence make any difference? I am just one. Will my service affect the work that dramatically?’ I testify to you that it will. You will never be able to measure your influence for good."
—Thomas S. Monson, "
